About Us
Making our communities safe, healthy, and STRONG
CCJRC launched in 1999 to challenge perpetual prison expansion and mass incarceration. We’ve led the fight for state investments in proven community-led strategies that reduce crime and strengthen neighborhoods. Through our state-level budget advocacy, well over a $100 million has been invested in community-based treatment, reentry, crime prevention and underserved victim services — and the evidence shows this works!
We work to eliminate the overuse of the criminal legal system and advance community health and safety.

CCJRC’s Denver-BASED WORK: Get Real Denver
Our goal: to change the narrative on public safety, fight the push for more punishment, and win meaningful investment in community-led solutions that work.
